It is unclear which assessment tools address these subjective perspectives best. the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) in relation to the Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand questionnaire (DASH), and the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire (MHQ) in patients with hand conditions. We hypothesized that the COPM scores would correlate with the DASH and MHQ total scores only to a moderate degree and that the COPM, DASH, and MHQ would all correlate weakly with hand impairments. hand impairments (pain (Numeric Rating Scale), active range of motion (goniometer), grip strength (Jamar dynamometer) and pinch grip (pinch meter)). Patients who had received post-surgery rehabilitation for flexor tendon injuries, extensor tendon injuries, or Dupuytren’s disease were eligible. Pearson correlation coefficient between the DASH and MHQ was greater than 0.60, whereas the correlation between the COPM-performance and either the DASH or the MHQ was lower than 0.51. Correlations of these measures with hand impairments were lower than 0.46. results. validity of the COPM in patients with post-surgery hand conditions.
